40 cyclists, 750 kilometers, 8 days – these are the key figures of the Tour of Hope, a charity bike ride that took place from November 1 to 8 in Thailand. Project manager Ino Retzlaff participated for the fourth time and Digital Collections was among the sponsors once again.

The ride started at the Laotian boarder and followed the Mekong river to finish in the Chiang Mai province. When they arrived there, the sportsmen could see with their own eyes the result of their efforts: the library of the Ban Mae Taman School, built to give over 200 children and 900 local residents a better access to knowledge. In addition, the organizers donated bicycles so that the children didn’t have to walk the long way to school anymore.
