September 2019. As of 2016, Jagran Prakashan Limited has been using the planning and production solution PlanPag from ppi Media, a partner of DC. The software manages the print production of over 260 local newspaper editions. With DC-X, the publishing company will now also be able to increase the efficiency of the editorial library management for texts, images, videos, and other assets. The DAM system makes it possible to carry out searches in large amounts of data within seconds and to transfer the content found directly to further processing systems.

“For the journalists of the various local editions, this means that, regardless of where they are, they can immediately find and use the appropriate assets among five millions from all editorial offices. The time-consuming sending and receiving of files via e-mail is no longer necessary,” says Torsten Behn, project manager at DC. In addition, the system allows certain assets to be released only for certain persons or editorial offices.

The integration of DC-X at Jagran Prakashan is led by an experienced project team consisting of experts from both ppi Media and Digital Collections. “Based on our experiences with ppi Media over the years we are confident that the DC-X Software System by Digital Collections will help us in organising our content in a more advanced and structured manner. This will assist our newsrooms for faster retrieval of required archived content” says Sandeep Gupta, Executive President of Jagran Prakashan Limited.
